Four years of care and attention are essential for the birth of a reed.
Left to blow in the wind for two years, the reed wood becomes both strong and flexible.
It will then take a further twenty-four months for the series of different stages, which include cutting, sun-drying, storing, and selecting the tubes.
This means that only the very best ones will be selected to enter our workshop.
All this ensures a rigorously selected raw material.
The upstream stages of harvesting, sun-drying and storage are performed with the greatest of care.
Our reed cane is given time to “mature” in order to fulfil all its potential.
