SABINE MEYER

Sabine Meyer was solo clarinettist with the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra before pursuing a career as a soloist. A keen practitioner of chamber music, she founded her own wind-instrument group, Bläserensemble Sabine Meyer.

In 1983, Sabine Meyer set up Trio di Clarone. She also plays solo clarinet in the new Lucerne Festival Orchestra, re-established by Claudio Abbado in 2003, which reunites for international music festivals held in Lucerne, Switzerland.

Among her notable interpretations is Mozart’s “Stadler” Quintet in A Major, with the Hagen Quartet. In the course of her career as a soloist, Sabine Meyer has performed with more than 300 orchestras around the world, including many leading international orchestras. Radio and television appearances have also taken her all over the planet, and she has been particularly active in the field of chamber music. Her repertoire includes works from the Baroque, Classical and Romantic periods, as well as contemporary music pieces.

Sabine Meyer developed the S800 model in collaboration with Steuer. She has been a loyal artist of the brand for over 30 years.
